Description
Lippman Law Offices has been in business since 2004 and is continuing to add bright, talented stars to its team. The practice, founded by attorney Mark Lippman, is continuing to grow, and we are seeking an individual to support better our clients' needs in civil and business litigation. This position is in-person, FULL-TIME, in our Downtown Orlando office.
Requirements
Education
A bachelor's degree in legal studies, paralegal studies, or a related field
OR…
An associate degree in paralegal studies, or a paralegal certification program
Experience
At least five years of experience in a paralegal role, including several years of litigation and trial experience
Experience with case management, including deposition preparation and summaries
Experience as a trial paralegal, with coordinating, calendaring, and following case management orders
Must have recent and consistent legal experience to be considered
Daily Duties of the Senior Paralegal:
Work closely with the Managing Attorney to draft and review multiple legal documents, including motions, pleadings, notices of deposition, discovery, subpoenas, and settlement documents.
Responsible for all Filing in the Florida Courts e-Filing portal
Provide daily communication and calendaring follow-up with Opposing Counsel, Clients, Mediators, etc., to set hearings, depositions, mediations, as well as prepare clients for meetings and hearings
Manage the discovery process with the client and attorney - interrogatories, requests to produce, and any other documents needed
Communicate specific and accurate information to the attorney, clients, and others promptly
Manage Up. Prepare a daily target list of what the Managing Attorney needs to complete, as well as what he needs to know about case parties and matters.
Confidently know how to pick up the phone and call Judicial Assistants, Opposing Counsel, and other parties to manage scheduling conflicts, request accommodation, etc.
Research facts and parties to assist in the resolution of legal disputes
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Regular Legal Research
Update calendars and the attorney's billing
Process payments, etc., and keep the Managing Attorney apprised of client issues and outstanding invoices.
Other tasks as requested
Skills
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Proficient in proofreading and attention to detail
- Familiarity with document management systems and software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong computer skills, including data entry and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, as well as CLIO or other legal management software.
This position requires a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, and the ability to handle sensitive information. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an active litigation firm. A paralegal certification is preferred but not required.
